Soundtrack of unforgettable moments, music can’t surely miss in your wedding’s day. The ceremony’s soundtrack must adapt to the style you’ve chosen, while avoiding making it an endless concert. Music of course, but with style and policy. Avoid musical styles too loud or with percussions, as well as friends acting as singers: these things don’t suit to any style and may annoy your guests. Better ask to the many specialized agencies or directly to musicians, groups or singers of high professionalism and prepared for every choice: violin, violoncello, harp, flute, guitar or organ and many others.
The first choice should be about the songs that accompany the rite in church: the music should consider a piece to be performed while waiting the bride, and another, a bit more intimate, for rings’ exchange. For the wedding march, the choice often falls on the one from the "Dream of a Midsummer Night" by F. Mendelssohn, or the one from "Lohengrin" by Wagner, but is also suitable the trumpet melody by Purcell, or the "Marcia Trionfale" by Verdi. There are also two parts of the ceremony that require an appropriate music. The first is the Offertory, during which, according to taste, you can choose from some famous compositions: the “Adagio in Sol minore” by Albinoni, the "Tramerei" by Schumann, the "Largo" by Handel. The second one is the Eucharist, for which you can pick freely from the "Preludes" by Bach, or the beautiful "Dream of Love" by Liszt, or the "Nocturne" by Chopin; also are indicated the 'Ave Maria' by Schubert or alternatively the one by Gounod. At the end of the ceremony it would be appropriate to exit from the church with the "March" by Wagner or Mendelssohn, or the 'Hallelujah "by Handel. Once you chose the songs, is good to do a little listening test: try to play all the songs in the same order as imagined for the ceremony. Is not sure, in fact, that individually pleasing music will produce the same effect played one after the other. Lately is becoming popular the use of "a cappella" or gospel choirs; however, this choice isn’t suitable for all kind of churches and ceremonies. For both cases should be taken into account the size of the church and its natural amplification. Definitely to be avoided music players and plants, it would lead to unpleasant results. Another mistake not to be made is to distribute a program of the music, it might give the impression of being at a concert. |
